SAFETY INFORMATION

It is important that you read and understand the information contained in this booklet before using any of the Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems accessories. If you have any questions regarding the correct use or installation of any Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems accessories, please contact Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems either in VIC or NSW for immediate clarifi cation. Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems products are specifi cally intended to be used by trained, qualifi ed and experienced people. Misuse or lack of supervision and/or inspection can contribute to serious accidents or deaths. If you employ any other application than those shown in this booklet it should be tested before use. If any of the Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems products are used, you must fi rst evaluate the product application in order to determine the safe working load and control all fi eld conditions to prevent application of loads in excess of the product’s safe working load. Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems has developed safe working loads for the products contained in this booklet in combination with actual testing and/or other industry sources. It should be noted that the recommended safe working loads given for each of the products must never be exceeded.

ALTERNATE PRODUCT & DESIGN

Many of the products that Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems manufactures and supplies are designed to be used as part of a complete system. Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems discourages interchanging products supplied by other manufacturers with components supplied by Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems, as it loses the integrity of the major product. When used in accordance with instruction, Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems products have proven to be among the safest in the industry. It should be noted that when the Olivetti Concrete Lifting System products are used with incompatible components supplied by other manufactures, the products or system may be rendered unsafe. Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems reserves the right to change product designs, rated loads and product dimensions at any time without prior notice.

MODIFICATION

It should be noted that welding concrete accessories can compromise its safe working load value and cause hazardous situations. Knowledge of welding procedures, heat treating, etc, are necessary for the most appropriate welding. Consult a welding expert or licenced dealer for assistance in determining the appropriate welding procedures. It should be noted that unless approved by a licensed metallurgical engineer You must not weld to any casting; welding to an iron casting may cause brittleness, etc, which destroys the products load value. Since Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems cannot control workmanship or conditions in which modifi cation are done, Olivetti Concrete Lifting Systems cannot be responsible for any product altered or modifi ed by external parties.

SERVICING OF WEAR & TEAR

Concrete accessories must be used and maintained accordingly to abide by safety rules and regulations. The various products contained in this booklet may be subject to wear, corrosion, overloading, deformation, and other factors that may affect the device’s performance. All reusable products must be inspected regularly to determine if the products may be used at the rated safe working load. Factors such as the amount of use, period of service and environment determine the amount of inspections required. It is the responsibility of the user to arrange inspections for wear and to remove from service if it is no longer rated safe.
